Types of FSSAI License
1. Basic Registration (₹100/year)
- Turnover up to ₹12 lakhs
- Small retailers, hawkers, home-based businesses
- 14-digit registration number
2. State License
- Turnover ₹12 lakhs to ₹20 crores
- Medium-sized manufacturers, storage units
- 14-digit license number
3. Central License
- Turnover above ₹20 crores
- Large manufacturers, importers, e-commerce
- Operators in multiple states
Documents Required
- Photo ID of applicant (Aadhaar/PAN)
- Passport size photograph
- Business address proof
- Food safety management plan
- List of food products
- NOC from municipality (for manufacturing)
- Water test report
- Partnership deed/MOA (for firms/companies)
Registration Process
- Visit FoSCoS Portal: foscos.fssai.gov.in
- Create Account: Register with mobile and email
- Select License Type: Basic/State/Central
- Fill Application: Business and food category details
- Upload Documents: All required documents
- Pay Fees: Online payment
- Inspection: For State/Central license
- License Issued: Valid for 1-5 years
